This pack contains the three main sets of cards used in the teaching of cursive handwriting in the Hemispheres Think Write. Building strong and solid thinking skills, through movement, sound and visual image prepares children with the structured thinking skills that will be used to guide their hand when they begin to form the cursive letters.
The Cognitive Flashcards and Games introduce the children to the Think Write Characters who act as a thinking 'hook' supporting them to build the animal categories into which they can layer in the rules for starting shape, size, spatial placement and eventually letter families. The concept of learning using the animal character hooks supports the working memory systems and enables children to group together their learning, so they can 'think' more clearly when it comes to forming the cursive letters.
The illustrated cards support children whilst they learn which letters belong to which animal family before they can move onto using the non illustrated cards. The non illustrated cards are there when children are practising and remembering which letters below to which animal.
Hemispheres Think Write prides it's cognitive framework and feel this is important as it establishes 'files of knowledge' for example Harriet the Cow, is a tall animal, she stands on grass and reaches up to the clouds. Her letters all start with a tall straight line, starting on the grass and are as tall as the cloud on the illustrated paper. Her letters are l, t, h, b, k and f.
